Terms of Service. Legal terms for using Vestra services.

2. Acceptance of Terms

By creating an account or using any Vestra service, you confirm your agreement to these Terms and our Privacy Policy.

If you use our services as a business to store or process personal data on behalf of others, our Data Processing Addendum also applies and forms part of these Terms; no signature is needed. Our current sub-processors are listed on our Sub-Processors page.

3. Modifications

We may update these Terms occasionally. If we make a significant change¹, we will give reasonable advance notice by email or another direct account notice where practicable, explain when it takes effect, and let you cancel an affected recurring service before then. We will ask for fresh agreement where the change cannot fairly or lawfully take effect through notice alone. Merely visiting a page does not waive rights you have under applicable law².

4. Eligibility

You must be at least 13 years old to use our services. Our Privacy Policy explains our current approach to children's data and the age-appropriate-design review still in progress.

5. User Accounts

You are responsible for maintaining your account credentials and activities performed under your account. Do not share access credentials with others.

6. Services Provided

Vestra provides hosting and related infrastructure services, including the Vestra One membership, Vestra VPN and Vestra Drive (sections 8A to 8C). Availability and performance may vary and are not guaranteed to be uninterrupted at all times.

Outputs from Vestra AI services may be inaccurate or incomplete, so review them before relying on them. We do not use your prompts, inputs, outputs or uploaded content to train AI models; see our Privacy Policy.

7. Acceptable Use

You agree not to misuse services, including but not limited to unlawful activity, malware distribution, DDoS activity, or hosting prohibited content.

Vestra VPN and Vestra Drive: sections 8B and 8C set out further rules for these services.

Virtual servers (VPS): outbound email ports 25, 465 and 587 are blocked, and port or vulnerability scanning of networks you do not control, brute-force attempts and attacks on other systems are not permitted. The VPS Acceptable Use Policy sets out the full rules, and we may suspend a VPS while we investigate abuse.

8. Payments and Refunds

Payments are processed by Stripe.

Automatic renewal: subscriptions renew automatically at the end of each billing period, for the same billing period and at the then-current price, until you cancel. You can cancel at any time online through your account or the billing portal. Cancellation takes effect at the end of your current paid period, and your service continues until then. We will notify you in advance of any price change before it applies to a renewal.

Statutory cancellation rights apply where the law gives them to you. If you expressly ask us to start a service during a statutory cancellation period, any lawful deduction is limited to the proportion of the service supplied before cancellation. Where digital content is supplied immediately, we will obtain any separate express consent and acknowledgement required before a statutory right to cancel can be lost. These rules do not restrict statutory refunds or remedies. Any additional goodwill refund policy shown for a product applies alongside, not instead of, those rights.

8A. Vestra One

Vestra One is a membership that includes three benefits for as long as it is active: a discount on one Vestra hosting plan, Vestra VPN (section 8B) and 50 GB of Vestra Drive storage (section 8C). One membership is allowed per account, and the benefits are tied to your Vestra Passport account.

Hosting discount: 50% off the price of one eligible hosting plan on your account (a game server or a VPS), up to £5.00 off per month. Storage add-ons are charged at full price. The discount appears on that plan's invoices from its next invoice. You choose which plan carries it in Vestra Console; if you have only one plan, it is applied there automatically. You can move the discount to a different plan once per calendar month, and if the discounted plan ends you can choose another.

Price and renewal: £5.99 a month or £59.90 a year, in GBP with no VAT added. You pay when you join, and the membership renews automatically each month or each year, under section 8, until you cancel.

Late payment: if a renewal payment fails, your benefits continue for 7 days. After that, Vestra VPN is paused, your Vestra Drive storage returns to 5 GB and the hosting discount is removed from future hosting invoices until the payment is made. Nothing is deleted while a membership is paused.

Cancellation: you can cancel at any time in Vestra Console. Cancellation takes effect at the end of the period you have paid for, and every benefit continues until then. You can undo a cancellation before that date. When the membership ends, the hosting discount stops from the plan's next invoice, your Vestra VPN account and its devices are deleted, and your Vestra Drive storage returns to 5 GB as described in section 8C.

Refunds: section 8 applies. When you join, you ask for Vestra One to start immediately. If you then cancel within a statutory cancellation period, any deduction is limited to the part of the membership supplied before you cancelled. We do not offer an additional goodwill refund for Vestra One, and cancelling part-way through a paid month or year does not refund the rest of that period, except where the law requires it.

Limited places and the waitlist: Vestra VPN has a fixed number of places, so we limit the number of Vestra One memberships to the places available. When they are all taken, new sign-ups close and you can join the waitlist instead. Joining the waitlist is free, does not reserve a place and does not create a contract. When places become available, we email people on the waitlist. We may open or close new sign-ups at any time; closing them does not affect existing members.

8B. Vestra VPN

Vestra VPN is a WireGuard VPN included with Vestra One. You can use it on up to 3 devices at once. Speed is up to 100 Mbit/s, shared by all your devices, and is not guaranteed. Each calendar month (UTC) you can transfer up to 200 GB, counting uploads and downloads together. We email you when you reach 80%. At 200 GB the VPN stops until 00:00 UTC on the first day of the next month. The VPN server is in Helsinki, Finland.

Abuse reports: send them to [email protected]. We do not record the sites you visit, your DNS queries or the content of your traffic. Each member does have a fixed range of ports on the VPN's shared IPv4 address and their own IPv6 address, and we keep a record of which account held which range and address, and when. So a report that gives our address, the port and the time can be traced to your account. A report that names only the victim's address cannot. Our Privacy Policy explains what this record holds and how long we keep it. Every staff lookup is recorded.

We may suspend your VPN while we investigate a report. If we find abuse, we may switch off Vestra VPN or end your membership. For serious abuse, or where the law requires it, we may act without notice. Where the law allows and it will not harm an investigation, we will tell you why. We only disclose account information to authorities where the law requires us to.

A VPN changes the address that websites see. It does not make you anonymous, and you should not rely on it where your safety depends on staying anonymous.

8C. Vestra Drive

Vestra Drive is file storage and sharing at drive.vestra.systems. A free Drive account includes 5 GB. With Vestra One, the Drive account you link in Vestra Console gets 50 GB. You create the Drive account yourself, and one Drive account can be linked to each membership. The Vestra Drive terms also apply; if they differ from these Terms, these Terms prevail.

You are responsible for the files you upload and the links you share. Anyone who has a share link can open the file.

Takedowns: report content to [email protected]. Copyright notices can also be sent through a support ticket, as our Privacy Policy describes. We may remove files or disable links that break these rules or that we must remove by law, and we may suspend the Drive account. Where the law allows and it will not harm an investigation, we will tell you what we removed and why, and you can ask us to review the decision through support.

When Vestra One ends: your Drive storage returns to 5 GB. If you are using more than 5 GB, your account becomes read-only for 30 days: you can still open, download and delete files, but you cannot upload. We email you when the membership ends, 7 days before the 30 days are up and on the day itself. After 30 days, if you are still over 5 GB, we delete your newest files until the account is within 5 GB. Deleted files cannot be recovered. Our backups are kept for disaster recovery only and are not restored for individual accounts. If you rejoin Vestra One before the 30 days are up, your 50 GB returns and nothing is deleted.

Vestra Drive is not a backup service. Keep your own copies of files that matter to you.

9. Intellectual Property

All Vestra content, branding, software, and materials are owned by Vestra or its licensors. Use without permission is prohibited.

10. Termination

We may suspend or terminate accounts for violations of these Terms or harmful behavior³. You may cancel services at any time through account settings or support channels.

11. Disclaimers

To the extent permitted by law, services are provided "as is" and "as available" and we do not promise uninterrupted availability. If you are a consumer, nothing here removes statutory terms or remedies, including requirements that applicable services are provided with reasonable care and skill and that digital content is of satisfactory quality, fit for a disclosed purpose and as described.

12. Legal Compliance

You are responsible for ensuring that your content and activity comply with applicable law, including the UK Online Safety Act 2023 where relevant.

13. Limitation of Liability

For business customers, to the maximum extent permitted by law, Vestra is not liable for indirect or consequential loss, including loss of profits, revenue or business, and Vestra's aggregate liability arising from the services or these Terms is capped at the amount paid by that customer to Vestra in the 12 months before the event. For consumers, these exclusions and the fee cap apply only where they are lawful and fair and do not restrict statutory rights or remedies.

14. Ordering and Contract Confirmation

After you place an order for any of Vestra's services, Vestra will provide confirmation of the contract on a durable medium within a reasonable time⁴. This confirmation will typically be sent by email and will include a summary of the services purchased, the price, billing terms, and any legally required pre-contract information where it has not already been provided in that format.

15. Governing Law

These Terms are governed by the laws of England and Wales. If you are a consumer, this choice does not deprive you of mandatory protections of the country where you live, and you may use any court that applicable consumer law permits. Business disputes are subject to the courts of England and Wales.

16. Delayed Acceptance

In limited circumstances⁵, acceptance of revised Terms may be deferred by support approval. Contact [email protected] for review.

⁵ Limited circumstances include situations where the revision significantly impacts user rights or obligations. Pricing supersedes Delayed Acceptance users. Delayed Acceptance is applicable for up to 30 days after Delayed Acceptance is granted, during this time the customer may delete their account or cancel their subscription.
